Now that you have reserved your storage unit, it’s time to get ready to move your belongings in. We have outlined the process of moving in below so you know what to expect on your first day.
You can visit your location any time prior to your move-in to sign your contract, meet your property manager, view your unit, and learn the ins-and-outs of our facility.
Find that you need more space? No problem. Your property manager can help you choose another storage unit.
Before moving in to your storage unit, you will be asked to sign a rental contract with us.

The rental terms at Shurgard are always month-to-month. That means no long-term commitment, and you're able to move out at any time.
Beside the rental price, there are other costs you need to consider:

The property manager will provide you with a personal PIN code – you will need this code to enter our premises and open the electronic security gate.
You're free to visit your storage unit during Access Hours when you'll find us open seven days a week, 365 days per year.
At most locations, you can access your storage unit between 6am and 11pm, but be sure to check your location's specific Office and Access Hours, as these can vary by property.
Be sure to make use of our trolleys. They'll save time and energy when moving heavy items.

For your benefit and safety, there are some items that cannot be stored with us. A few of these items include live plants and animals; flammable liquids and explosives; and illegal contraband, like drugs and automatic firearms. See here a list of items that can’t be stored.
Variety of unit sizes
We have a range of storage sizes – so if you don’t have many things, you won’t end up paying for space you’re not using.
Convenient access
Only you can access your storage unit. We offer free and extended access hours, 7 days a week, so you’re free to store or pick up things whenever you need to.
Safe and secure
Our premises are secured with surveillance cameras, perimeter fencing, alarms, individual access codes. You can access your unit with your own lock and key.
No long-term commitment
Our self storage contracts are completely flexible. You just have to inform us 15 days before moving out.
