How much does self-storage cost?
You’re in the driving seat when it comes to how much you spend on self-storage.
You choose the location, unit size and type, as well as the rental period. So you can perfectly tailor your unit to your own budget and needs.

How does Shurgard determine its rental prices?
The rental price is determined by several elements:
- Location: rental prices can vary from one Shurgard location to another. Renting a unit in the city centre can be more expensive.
- Unit size: our storage units range in size from 1 to 30 m². The larger your unit is, the cheaper by square metre.
- Unit features: depending on the level of accessibility of the unit, rental prices can vary. If you want to drive a vehicle directly to the door of your unit, it will be more expensive. Alternatively, if you don’t mind using the lift or your unit being an irregular shape, the rental price will be cheaper.

What is included in the price?
- Access to your unit 7 days a week between 6.00 and 23.00 (some locations may have slightly different access hours, see your location page)
- Parking at the facility
- Expert advice and customer service on-site
- Use of our trolleys to easily load and unload

What is not included in the price?
These are the only extra costs new customers may need to pay:
- A one-off administration fee of € 20 when you sign your first contract with us. Returning customers don’t have to pay this fee.
- A sealed lock of € 14,90 to guarantee no one else can access your storage unit. Read more about why you need a lock.
- Insurance to cover your stored goods. You can insure your belongings for as little as € 16 per month. The actual cost of your premium depends on the value of the belongings stored in your unit. Read more about why you need insurance for your stored goods.

Is the admin fee a recurring cost?No. The administration fee of € 20 is a “one-off” cost, meaning you only have to pay it once. When you rent a unit later in the future, you won’t have to pay this fee again.

Do I have to pay a deposit?No. Unlike other storage companies, we don’t ask for a deposit when you reserve or rent it your storage unit. You only begin paying the day you move in.

Does Shurgard do price match?At Shurgard we don’t play the price match game. Instead we simply quote you our best price. We pride ourselves for providing you the best value at the best price.

Does Shurgard run promotions?
Yes. We occasionally have special offers on selected units and at selected facilities. Sometimes, these special offers can even be combined.

What are the different types of promotion?
At Shurgard we occasionally have one of the below offers:
- € 1 or 50% off first month: this offer applies to the first month’s rent of your storage unit and is valid for new customers only.
- Online Special: you get a price reduction on your monthly rent if you book a storage unit online.
- Special Prices: this price reduction applies to the monthly rent of your storage unit.
- Best Deals: this means you can upgrade to a bigger unit for less than € 5 a month.
