Shurgard becomes partner of Stichting Babyspullen
What is Stichting Babyspullen?
Stichting Babyspullen was founded by a young mother in 2012. With the support of over 250 volunteers, the foundation donates free baby boxes to parents all over the Netherlands who are struggling financially.
1 out of 9 children grows up in poverty. In large cities, that can even be 1 out of 4. Today the foundation donates close to 5,000 free baby boxes a year to families in need. And the number keeps increasing.
How does it work?
- Do you have second-hand (or new) baby items lying around, such as a bedding or baby clothes up to size 92/98? Donate them to Stichting Babyspullen!
- You can drop these baby items at one of the collections points near you.
- Volunteers will pick up the baby items and transport them to a central sorting and distribution center.
- Everything gets sorted and packed into baby boxes.
- These baby boxes are donated to parents who have financial problems.
How does Shurgard help the foundation?
- Shurgard serves as a collection point for the foundation. We’ve placed red donation containers at 17 self-storage locations across the Netherlands, in which new or second-hand baby items can be collected.
- In addition, we provide the foundation free storage space at each of these locations.
- As a golden sponsor we help to give over 300 children a year the best possible start in life.
How can you help the foundation?
There are three ways to support Stichting Babyspullen:
- by donating new or second-hand baby items at one of the many collection points,
- by joining Stichting Babyspullen as a volunteer. You could help with sorting, administration or transport,
- by donating.
