Vitra Eames DSW
This is without any doubt the most iconic chair ever created. Designed by Charles & Ray Eames back in 1950; over 60 years later it is still very much in style.
Due to high demands, these chairs now come in 14 different seat colours and 4 base colours, giving endless choices and countless uses – from dining room to home office to living room.
The Wishbone chair by Carl Hansen & Son
Created by Hans Wegner back in 1950, the Wishbone chairs are still in production today. The combination of minimalism with the organic forms gives this a chair a very modern appearance.
The Wishbone has a solid wooden frame with a choice of 6 different hardwoods, while the seat is made of more than 120 meters of paper cord.
The production of the chair involves mostly manual work that includes over 100 steps. So with a Wishbone chair you will have a truly handmade Danish design icon in your home.
The Kartell Masters
The Kartell Masters chair stands on four slender legs and is spacious and comfortable.
The back rest is the most fascinating part of the chair: the three different handrails are crossed together, providing open space yet full support for the back. This means the Masters is light, practical, stackable and suitable for use both in and outdoor.
Wiggle side chair by Vitra
This is probably the most unusual chair one could think of that is made from the most usual material.
The Wiggle Side Chair is designed by Frank Gehry. The backrest, the seat and the structure are all made of corrugated cardboard while the sides are constructed from hard fiber plate.
The sculptural form of the Wiggle Side Chair makes it stand out. Although surprisingly simple in appearance, it is constructed with the consummate skills of an architect, making it not only very comfortable but also durable and robust.
Kartell Louis Ghost chair
Despite its fragile, crystalline appearance, the Louis Ghost is made of injected polycarbonate in a single mould. In other words, this chair is stable, durable as well as shock, scratch and weather resistant.
The chair is available in 6 different crystal colours. If you have a small room, the Louis Ghost chairs will make your space seems less cluttered and feel bigger.
The Panton chair by Vitra
Created by Verner Panton in 1960, the Panthon was the first chair to be manufactured completely out of plastic in one single piece.
The Panton Chair has received numerous international design awards and is represented in the collections of many museums, including the New York’s Museum of Modern Art, London’s Design Museum, Berlin’s German Historical Museum and Copenhagen’s Danish Museum of Art & Design.
Made from slightly flexible material, the Panton is comfortable and suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Just wanted to mention I liked this blog post.
